Janey Butler’s Handpicked Artist, Neil Nelson Series 3


During this week’s Series 3, we are focussing on are Abstract Landscape Artist Neil Nelson. Janey Butler continues to work with a number of Artists who have their own individual style, ultimately making every Interior Design Project unique, selecting pieces which are appropriate for the space, whilst also considering each Clients taste. Janey is particularly drawn to Nelson’s use of earthy tones, abstract landscapes, seascapes, which work perfectly with her signature natural colour pallets often seen in her Award-Winning Interior Projects.

Neil Nelson’s studio is located near the coast of Northumberland. Born in 1977 in Berwick upon Tweed, he studied Fine Art at Northumberland College of Art and Design, later Classical Realism at Studio Escalier in Southern France. His work encompasses still life landscape, figure and portraiture, working with oils and charcoal with an expressive yet distinctive and insightful painting approach. Gaining a strong reputation, becoming extremely collectible over recent years. 

Neil exhibits his pieces at the National Portrait Gallery in London, the Scottish National Gallery, London's Mall Galleries. He has also had solo and group exhibitions in Newcastle, Edinburgh, London, New York, and Washington DC and his work is featured in collections in the UK, Europe and the U.S.
