JANEY BUTLER’S HANDPICKED ARTIST, SABINE MAES SERIES 2

Throughout the Janey Butler Collection’s a varity of Artists have been selected for their own unique style. This week we share more details on Sabine Maes, who’s Artwork Janey was particularly drawn to for her abstract style, attention to detail and her use of earthy colour tones and texture.

Born in 1964 in Belgium Sabine is an abstract artist. Letting her work speak to those who like modern minimalist design. Inspired by nature, with all its different whims, colours and surfaces. By painting layer after layer, generating a balanced and unflustered composition. Her paintings be quite untamed, the shades are often subtle yet charismatic. When describing her art, she likes to describe it as “ wabi sabi”, a japanese term for “imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.” Her Studio is her sanctuary, often experimenting in a playful and messy way with different tones, different consistencies and mixes of paint and materials.

To obtain unique structures, she crafts her own painting brushes and uses a wide range of dried tropical leaves, branches and rope.

As well as the Janey Butler Collections website, her Artwork can also be seen fairs in North Carolina, USA and High-End stores in Belgium.
